Founder’s Hall at Girard College is a National Historic Landmark and the home of the Girard College Historical Collections.

Open Hours

Walk-in museum hours are Wednesday-Friday 10-4.
Other dates/times are available by appointment.

The museum is self guided and visitors are welcome to stop by for as long or as little as they’d like.  No appointment is necessary during walk in hours, but because Girard College is an active school, all visitors must check in with security upon entering the campus. Also note that Founder’s Hall is a historic structure and stairs are unavoidable to visit the museum.

Weekend Openings

In addition to its regular weekday hours, Founder’s Hall Museum is hosts a monthly weekend open house. Visitors to the open house can enjoy special themed highlights and activities, along with the opportunity for a self-guided visit to the museum.

  • Nov 16, 12-4 PM: Military Memories
  • December 14, 12-4 PM: Hum for the Holidays

Because Girard College is an active school, all museum visitors must check in with Security upon arrival.

Parking is available on campus. We are also located on SEPTA Bus Routes 15 & 33 and a 1/2 mile west of the Girard Ave station on the Broad Street subway line.

Accessibility

Founder’s Hall is a historic structure and is wheelchair accessible only on the first floor, via an exterior wheelchair lift. Stairs are unavoidable to access the museum collections, located on the second floor, but modified presentations are available for groups.

Food

Food and beverages are not available at Founder’s Hall, but there are many options in the Fairmount and Brewerytown neighborhoods, ranging from coffee shops to fine dining. Visitors can also picnic in the nearby Corinthian Gardens.
